Stickers are still one of the merchandise that is in demand by many people. Apart from being a decoration, stickers have other uses such as self-identity, jewellery, and product labels. However, you need to know that custom stickers have two types in general, namely, kiss cut and die cut. Even though they look similar, they both have different types of cutting methods.

So, what are the differences between those two sticker cutting methods?

Die Cut Stickers

Have you ever seen a sticker pack that has been cut into small pieces? Well, this product is an example of a type of die cut sticker. Please note, die-cut stickers are a type of sticker that has been cut into pieces according to the outline of the object. Interestingly, the base layer of paper on this type of sticker is also cut off along with the top layer. There are 3 layers contained in the die-cut sticker, namely the protective plastic, the image layer, and the back layer.

In addition, the cutting process is also quite complicated, because it requires high accuracy. This is useful so that the sticker pattern is cut precisely. To cut the die cut sticker properly, you need a die tool made of wood and iron. This tool is designed to have a similar layout to the previous sticker sheet. Usually, this type of sticker is used to decorate walls, vehicles, tables, and even scrapbooks.

Kiss Cut Stickers

Almost similar to die cut, but different. If a die-cut sticker has a backing or the paper is cut off, the kiss cut doesn’t. This type of sticker is usually found on sticker sheets or sticker sheets, and sticker books. A Kiss-cut sticker itself is a type of sticker that is often printed on sticker paper, where the back layer of the sticker is not cut off. The cutting process is unique. The cutting blade only cuts the sticker down to the vinyl layer. So, when you remove the sticker, it will leave a sheet of paper or backing paper. Its use is the same as die-cut, namely as decorations, product labels, identity labels, handicrafts, to scrapbook decorations.
